Why did I choose to write about South Indian actress? For two reasons. On one of movie site her snap caught my eyes. She looks so gorgeous and hot. And another reason is her stunning filmography. The beautiful Nayantara from Kerala is the flavour of this Diwali with three of her films releasing next week – Vallavan with Silambarasan, E with Jeeva and Thalaimagan with Sarath Kumar.

This 21 years Keralite actress had completed her B.A. literature and was doing her C.A. when films beckoned her. He debut film was the Malayalam ‘Manassinakkare’ where she had Jayaram as her hero, and Sathyan Anthikad as the director. Then came two films with Mohanlal. Her soft, pretty looks captured the attention of Malayalam film buffs and of director Hari too. He saw her photo in a magazine and soon Nayanthara was called by the Tamil director to act in ‘Ayya’, for the prestigious banner of K Balachander, with Sarath Kumar as hero. Nayanthara was catapulted to limelight when she was signed for ‘Chandramukhi’ and was paired with none other than Superstar Rajinikant himself. After crossing the border she has changed her ‘sidha sadha’ image and started talking glamorous roles.

Then she has been cast to play the lead role in a much younger Simbu’s directorial debut’Vallavan’, in which he also has the lead role. Nayanthara and Simbu’s intimate life-sized posters created shock waves in Chennai, which were subsequently pulled down by the police. Similar excitement resulted when glamorous life-sized posters were posted all over Chennai – this time with her co-star S.J. Surya. With her attractive looks and talent, it is no wonder that she is one of the most popular actresses in the Tamil film industry.
